Recessive White Gene Test

Our Recessive White DNA Test can determine whether your bird is:

✔ Non Recessive (C/C) – Does not carry the Recessive White gene and cannot pass it to offspring.

✔ Carrier (C/c) – Carries one copy of the Recessive White gene but does not express white plumage. The gene can be passed to approximately 50% of offspring.

✔ Recessive (c/c) – Carries two copies of the Recessive White gene and will express recessive white plumage while passing one copy of the gene to all offspring.

Knowing whether a bird is clear, a carrier, or homozygous recessive allows breeders to avoid unexpected white chicks, intentionally produce recessive white offspring, and develop breeding programs with greater genetic accuracy.
